Duty of Care and Wrongful Death Claims
Drivers have a legal “duty of care” toward cyclists. This includes monitoring the road, mirrors, and blind spots to prevent collisions. In the event of an accident, drivers must stop, seek medical help for the cyclist, and take measures to prevent further harm.
For families facing the aftermath of losing a loved one in such a collision, there are associated costs like medical bills and burial expenses. Filing a wrongful death claim with the at-fault driver’s insurance can provide compensation for these expenses, and an experienced personal injury attorney can assist families in negotiating with insurance companies to ensure fair compensation and justice for the victims.
