San Mateo County, CA – According to The Sacramento Bee, on Friday, July 26, 2024, three people identified as 36-year-old Brylyn Aroma from Fort Riley, Kansas, and 28-year-old Angelica Gacho and 29-year-old Mohammad Noory, both from South San Francisco, lost their lives after their vehicle tumbled off of a cliff.
At 11:19 AM, The California Highway Patrol (CHP) first received reports of the crash happening along Highway 1 near Devil’s Slide, a scenic area known for its sharp twists and turns, situated between Pacifica and Montara, approximately 20 miles southwest of San Francisco.
The vehicle carrying the three victims plunged approximately 300 to 400 feet to land in the waters below. Rescue teams initially found two victims inside the vehicle. The third victim was discovered the following day, Saturday, July 27, when the car was retrieved from the ocean.
The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances leading to the fatal crash.
