Sacramento, CA — ABC10 reports that the man who died in a crash on Wednesday night, October 9, 2024, along southbound Interstate 5 has been identified as 59-year-old Moses Osoro, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to a report of a vehicle partially blocking a lane on I-5, just north of Garden Highway, around 8:45 PM. When officers arrived, they found Osoro, the sole occupant, inside the vehicle. Tragically, Osoro was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigations by the CHP suggest that the crash may have been caused by a medical emergency. The exact cause of the incident remains under review, but no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The crash led to the temporary closure of several lanes on southbound I-5 as authorities conducted their investigation. The lanes were reopened later that night.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation as authorities work to understand the medical emergency that may have played a role in Osoro’s death.
Liability in Single-Vehicle Collisions
In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. A personal injury attorney plays a critical role in sorting through these details to help victims and their families get the compensation they deserve.
Once liability is determined, the attorney can negotiate with insurance companies, who often try to reduce payouts. That means having legal representation can be vital to ensure victims receive fair compensation for their loss.
