Tulare County, CA ‒ On the evening of Saturday, December 14, 2024, a two-vehicle collision in South Valley resulted in one woman losing her life, according to ABC30.
The accident took place on Highway 65 and Marinette Avenue, near Exeter, around 7 PM.
Investigations from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) indicate that the woman had been riding as the passenger of a Chevy Deluxe which was traveling southbound on Highway 65, approaching the intersection with Marinette Avenue.
An eastbound Chevy Silverado coming from Marinette is reported to have run the stop sign at that intersection. It struck the Deluxe, leaving its female passenger with fatal injuries.
While the Chevy Silverado driver remained uninjured in the collision, the driver of the Chevy Deluxe was also wounded and received transportation from emergency responders to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
The identities of those involved have not yet been made available to the public. Authorities have stated that they do not believe driver impairment from drugs or alcohol to have played a role in the fatal crash.
Wrongful Death Claims
Even if a fatal accident doesn’t lead to criminal charges, families who lose a loved one can still file a Wrongful Death claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance. This compensation can help cover medical bills, funeral costs, and lost income that the family depended on.
However, insurance companies will always try to pay as little as possible, making it difficult for families to receive the full amount they deserve. So, having an experienced personal injury attorney is essential to receive fair compensation and justice for your loved one.
