Aromas, CA — Authorities have identified 48-year-old Mario Martinez Mendez of Watsonville as the victim in a fatal four-vehicle crash that occurred Friday evening, December 20, 2024, according to KSBW.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the fatal accident took place on San Juan Road around 5:35 PM.
The crash occurred on a stretch of San Juan Road between Carpenteria Road and Tarpey Road. Emergency crews closed the roadway for several hours to allow for a thorough investigation.
Mendez’s role in the crash has not yet been disclosed, and CHP has released few details about the sequence of events. It remains unclear if others were injured in the collision.
