Lemoore, CA – A woman died Tuesday evening, December 24, 2024, following a two-vehicle crash as she was backing out of a driveway on Hanford Armona Road, according to KSEE.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the incident occurred around 7:20 PM near the intersection of Hanford Armona Road and 16th Avenue. Authorities said a 2012 Nissan Altima was involved in a collision with a 2017 GMC Acadia. CHP and the Kings County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
Preliminary findings revealed that the GMC, driven by a man, was heading eastbound on Hanford Armona Road when the Nissan backed out of a private driveway on the south side of the road. The vehicle partially entered both the eastbound and westbound lanes, colliding with the oncoming GMC.
The woman driving the Nissan was rushed to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The male driver of the GMC, along with three other occupants, was also transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
Authorities stated that neither drugs nor alcohol appear to have been factors in the collision. The investigation into the circumstances leading up to the crash remains ongoing.
