Vallejo, CA – A motorcyclist lost his life following a collision with a pickup truck on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, according to NBC Bay Area.
The accident occurred at approximately 11:21 PM at the intersection of Marin and Florida Streets.
According to investigators, the crash involved a Chevrolet Silverado traveling south on Marin Street and a Harley Davidson motorcycle heading north. Both vehicles entered the intersection on a green light.
Preliminary findings suggest that the Silverado driver attempted a left turn onto Florida Street, failing to yield to the oncoming motorcycle. Unable to avoid the collision, the motorcycle struck the passenger side of the pickup’s bed.
Emergency responders transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Authorities have not released the victim’s identity pending notification of family.
The driver of the Silverado remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. Police indicated that neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected as contributing factors in the crash.
Wrongful Death Claims
Even if a fatal accident doesn’t lead to criminal charges, families who lose a loved one can still file a Wrongful Death claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance. This compensation can help cover medical bills, funeral costs, and lost income that the family depended on.
However, insurance companies will always try to pay as little as possible, making it difficult for families to receive the full amount they deserve. So, having an experienced personal injury attorney is essential to receive fair compensation and justice for your loved one.
