Vehicle Crashes into Harry’s Bagels at Shaw, Cedar Ave, Injuring 5 near Fresno State

Fresno, CA – A crash at Uncle Harry’s Bagels near Fresno State left five people with injuries on Friday morning, January 3, 2024, according to KFSN.

The Fresno Police Department reported that the accident took place around 11 AM at the busy intersection of Shaw and Cedar Avenues.

The driver, an elderly woman, was pulling into the shop’s handicapped parking space when her sandal reportedly got stuck on the brake pedal. Her vehicle plowed through the storefront and came to a stop near the back counter.

Approximately 25 people were inside the shop at the time of the crash. Five individuals sustained injuries, with two requiring hospital treatment.

The crash also temporarily affected neighboring businesses as power and gas services were shut off. The health department was on-site and directed Uncle Harry’s to discard all food products near the damaged area.

Investigators stated that driver impairment does not appear to have been a factor in the accident.

Personal Injury Claims

After a car accident, victims and their families often deal with unexpected financial burdens, such as medical bills, lost income, and, in the worst cases, burial costs.

A Personal Injury claim allows accident victims to hold the at-fault party financially responsible for their cost of care. However, insurance companies usually try to reduce payouts for claims they can’t deny.

This is where a skilled personal injury attorney becomes essential, helping ensure victims get the justice and compensation they deserve.
