Fresno, CA — Two individuals were treated for injuries following a three-vehicle collision on Blackstone Avenue Sunday afternoon, January 12, 2025, according to The Fresno Bee.
The Fresno Police reported that the accident took place around 2 PM near El Paso Avenue.
Preliminary investigations suggest that two vehicles had slowed for southbound traffic on Blackstone Avenue when a third vehicle failed to stop in time. The resulting collision caused the middle vehicle to slam into the car ahead of it.
The two injured individuals, who were inside one of the impacted vehicles, reported pain and were treated at the scene. Authorities have not released further information about their identities or the extent of their injuries.
The collision happened near a demonstration at Blackstone and Nees Avenues, where hundreds had gathered in response to the Border Patrol’s recent “Return to Sender” operation in Kern County. Police confirmed the crash was unrelated to the event.
The incident briefly disrupted traffic in the area as emergency crews worked to assess the situation and clear the roadway. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Personal Injury Claims
Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Liability rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. A personal injury attorney can play a crucial role in helping victims establish legal responsibility after a traffic accident.
Should evidence reveal that another party contributed to the injuries, victims may be eligible to file a personal injury claim with the responsible party’s insurance. This can provide compensation to help cover damages such as hospital bills and lost income during recovery.
