Sacramento, CA – A collision involving a car and 13 motorcyclists on Highway 50 near Stockton Boulevard on Sunday morning, January 12, 2025, left one motorcyclist dead and four others seriously injured, according to KCRA.
Brian Shaw of Paradise, a respected member of his community and a dedicated motorcyclist, was identified as the victim who lost his life. Shaw was a longtime member of The Vituscan, a subgroup of The Clampers motorcycle organization, and was known for his passion for riding and his commitment to supporting those around him.
The accident took place around 8:45 AM in the westbound lanes of Highway 50, just east of Highway 99.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that a vehicle collided with the group of riders, causing multiple injuries. Shaw was transported to a Sacramento hospital, where he later died. Four other motorcyclists suffered significant injuries, including broken bones.
The CHP’s preliminary investigation indicates the collision was not intentional. The accident temporarily closed all lanes of Highway 50, which reopened by 12:15 PM.
Shaw’s death has left a deep void in his community and among his fellow riders, who have begun organizing support for his family during this difficult time.
The CHP is asking anyone with information or video of the crash to come forward to assist with the investigation.
