Crows Landing, CA — A tragic incident on Highway 33 has left a three-year-old child dead after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday night, January 21, 2025, according to FOX40.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the collision occurred around 8:20 PM on the 22000 block of Highway 33, just north of Crows Landing Road.
According to investigators, a 19-year-old driver from Patterson struck the child after the boy, who had been standing near a food truck, ran into the roadway. The driver immediately stopped and attempted to render aid.
While officers were responding to the crash, reports of gunfire emerged at the scene. Investigators found at least eight shell casings nearby, and two bullets had struck the driver’s vehicle. The uninjured driver left the scene for safety but later contacted authorities and has been cooperating with the investigation.
The CHP stated that it remains unclear who fired the shots or their motive. No arrests have been made.
