Ventura County, CA – In the early hours of Monday, March 17, 2025, a traffic collision involving multiple vehicles, including a black Mustang, resulted in injuries and significant road closures, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident took place around 2:56 AM at the intersection of Carmen Drive and Lewis Road.
Emergency responders arrived shortly after, finding at least one person trapped inside a vehicle. The incident, initially reported as a car fire, was later classified as a traffic collision with injuries.
Authorities diverted traffic off at Lewis Road while emergency crews worked to assess injuries and clear the scene. Ventura County Fire Department (VCFD) personnel provided medical assistance to those involved. One individual was transported to Ventura County Medical Center (VCMC) for treatment. By 3:02 AM, CHP confirmed that two vehicles were in the center divide, prompting a full road closure at 3:12 AM. Caltrans was contacted and estimated their arrival within 40 minutes to assist with traffic management.
By 3:29 AM, authorities confirmed that lanes #1 and #2 were blocked, leading to a prolonged closure as crews worked to investigate and remove the damaged vehicles. The roadway was fully reopened at 9:04 AM. Officials have not released further details regarding the cause of the crash or additional injuries.
