Pedestrian Injured in San Bruno Crash on I-280 South Crystal Springs Rd Off-Ramp

San Bruno, CA – On the morning of Saturday, March 22, 2025, a vehicle struck and injured a pedestrian on Interstate 280, according to CHP Fatal.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident took place around 6:35 AM on the I-280 South Crystal Springs Road off-ramp.

Emergency responders, including fire department personnel and CHP officers, arrived at the scene and initiated a traffic break near the Westborough area. The San Bruno Police Department assisted by shutting down the San Bruno on-ramp to southbound I-280.

The pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital with severe injuries. Officials have not released any details regarding the victim’s identity or current condition.

By 7:34 AM, the CHP reported that all lanes had been reopened, and law enforcement cleared the scene. A tow truck was dispatched to remove the Toyota Prius involved in the collision.

It is unclear whether the pedestrian was attempting to cross the highway or if other factors contributed to the incident. The circumstances leading to the crash remain under investigation.
