Helendale, CA – On the evening of Monday, March 24, 2025, a single-vehicle collision resulted in fatal injuries, according to CHP Fatal.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office reports that the accident occurred around 9:45 PM near the intersection of Helendale Road and Shadow Mountain Road.
Authorities say the driver of the vehicle, for reasons still under investigation, lost control, causing the vehicle to crash. The force of the collision led to the driver being ejected from the vehicle.
Upon arrival, emergency responders provided medical care but were unable to save the driver. The driver was later pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the driver has not yet been released as authorities work to notify next of kin.
Investigators are still working to determine the factors that led to the crash. At this time, it is unclear whether speed, weather conditions, impairment, or mechanical failure played a role in the incident.
Single-Vehicle Collisions
In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s Comparative Negligence rule means that even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages.
