Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash at West Canal Blvd, West Berry Ave near I-205 in San Joaquin County

San Joaquin County, CA – On the afternoon of Monday, April 14, 2025, a single-vehicle crash involving a car and a tree resulted in a fatality, according to CHP Fatal.

The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office reports that the accident took place around 12:50 PM near the intersection of West Canal Boulevard and West Berry Avenue, just south of the Interstate 205 overpass.

Authorities stated that a vehicle collided with a tree, causing significant damage and trapping the occupants inside. Emergency crews from the Stockton Fire Department responded to the scene to assist with extrication efforts. Despite those efforts, at least one person was pronounced dead at the scene.

A wrecker and flatbed tow truck were requested to remove the vehicle from the crash site. All lanes in the area were reopened by approximately 3:30 PM. 

The identity of the deceased has not been released, pending notification of next of kin. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
