Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash on Rd-426 near Forks Resort at Bass Lake

Bass Lake, CA – On the night of Thursday, April 24, 2025, a single-vehicle crash resulted in a fatality near the Forks Resort, according to CHP Fatal.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident occurred around 9:40 PM on Road 426.

Emergency crews, including medical responders and the local fire department, were called to the scene early the next morning. Authorities confirmed that the crash involved only one vehicle and that no traffic hazards were present at the time of the response.

The driver was found deceased at the scene. Officials have not yet released the victim’s identity as they are working to notify the next of kin. The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation, and it is not yet clear what caused the vehicle to leave the road.

A tow truck was requested to remove the vehicle from the scene shortly after the investigation began. Further details will be provided as they become available.
